Lanier National Speedway Schedules 4th of July Event

Braselton, GA; Lanier National Speedway after announcing last year that it would not be offering a full racing schedule in 2012 for the first time in 30 years, will after all continue a time honored tradition. Lanier will be holding its annual 4th of July Celebration racing event.

Stan Narrison former GM at Lanier for six years back in the mid 2000’s will be renting the track from track owner Donnie Clack to continue putting on one of the greatest short track events in the country. Stan has kept his hand in racing over the years working with various teams and racing series since leaving Lanier. After putting on this event for 6 years as GM Stan felt it was too great an event to just come to a sudden halt after 30 years. Stan is setting a date of Saturday June 30th to hold the annual 4th of July Celebration. The event will include support divisions a Demolition Derby and will be headlined by the Late Models. As a part of this great tradition and fan favorite, Stan will be putting on North Georgia ’s largest fireworks show to follow the racing. This event is not just for race fans, but a family event for anyone who loves mom, apple pie and to celebrate the 4th of July in a spectacular way.

Stan and Lanier will be releasing more information concerning the event over the next few months leading up to the event. So race fans and those just looking for an opportunity to be a part of a great family event, set the date on your calendars. Lanier National Speedway Announced Moved of Event

Officials of Lanier National Speedway announced today the move of SPEEDFEST 2012 to Watermelon Capital Speedway. Due to unforeseen circumstances between Lanier National Speedway and CRA Racing, CRA Racing Officials decided to move the event due to Reserved Parking being offered for SPEEDFEST 2012. Reserved Parking was offered due to several requests from racing teams over the last several weeks.

It is in the best interest of the racers, fans, and the entire racing industry. We are encouraging everyone to attend the race at Watermelon Capital Speedway. The dates are January 28-29, 2012. Lanier National Speedway will not hold an event for these dates.

Watermelon Capital Speedway; is a short 3 ½ hour drive from Lanier National Speedway. Take I-75 to Exit 104, Farmers Market Road. The track is 1/2 mile to the west off I-75. If you’re coming from the North take exit 104 and turn right. From the south, take the exit and turn left. The track is about 1/4 mile from the highway Just look for the sign.
